I’ll primarily be using my data to navigate, so I don’t anticipate using a lot (traveling for 25 days). Typically in a billing cycle I use 10-12GB, but that’s because I have unlimited in the U.S. and I use my phone a lot. I think I can get away with using maybe 5GB + topping up since I can use wifi to make international calls/send pictures through Facebook Messenger.

I’m just wondering if anyone has any recent experiences with any of the SIM providers (from what I read, TIM, Windtre, and Vodafone – Iliad won’t work for me since I’m also going to 3 other EU countries). The latest reviews I could find were glaringly negative and apparently sometimes didn’t even work at all, but I do understand that most people who have a good experience don’t bother leaving reviews.

I am aware that August is not typically advised, but that is a constraint of our trip. I am also aware that many users on this forum recommend sticking to just Spain or Portugal. However, I am willing to make some sacrifices (see less places) to see a good variety of destinations. I would also like to minimize the number of disruptive traveling days, etc. We thought to avoid Sevilla/Granada due to the heat and to instead visit the Basque Country.

To make the itinerary below more manageable (and to add 1 night to Central Portugal and to Porto), I am thinking of also combining Coimbra with Central Portugal, but I do not know where it is preferred to stay during that time. Or, perhaps I should skip Barcelona altogether for a less rushed trip. I would add those nights to Madrid/Toledo and Portugal.

What we are after is the actual address (street number and street name) of a hotel/hostel in Sitges called the “Terminus”, we think it appeared in the book as a place to stay…… there is a hostel in Sitges now with a similar name on the net called “Hostal Termes”. We don’t think this is the place we are after, but will check it out when we are there in a few days….

We would like any forum member who has an older (’76 or soon after) version of the $5/10 a day book (we note that bigtyke, a forum member, mentioned he has a copy and there are probably others) to have a look in it for us and post the address here… we don’t feel anyone will be breaching any copyright laws in doing so. It will be such a thrill for a couple of silly oldies to be back at the exact place we started our lives together all those years ago.

Hopefully someone will help us out and come up with the, up until now, elusive address…

I pretty much don’t think we should go to big cities (ie London and Paris) but rather take the chance to explore the more relaxing destinations Europe has to offer. I am the kind of person who can chill out at a resort for days and be perfectly content, but I need to balance that with my fiancé’s extremely active lifestyle and desire to explore and do activities. We’re hoping to go for ~2 weeks. We are very open but right now we’re thinking 2 out of 3 of the following:

French Riviera (is Cap Ferrat too secluded? Someone said St. Tropez is nice)
Lake Como
Amalfi Coast
